Traffic light which is known also as traffic signals or traffic lamps is a device that mainly installed or positioned at road intersections or pedestrian crossing as a controller of traffic flows. The above schematic illustrates a simple automated traffic light controller circuit design. This circuit utilizes some integrated circuit (IC) such as 555 timer, and 74160. You can simulate various traffic lights using green, yellow, and red LEDs and feed the outputs of the circuit to respective LEDs via current-limiting resistors of 470 ohms each to check the working of the circuit.
